Keith has now put a link on the BNHS web site http://www.bnhs.org.uk/ to a new interactive map of the county with all the old orchid records for most of the species that need checking on this year. Thanks Keith.
We have already had confirmed Early purple records for number 14 Claphampark wood and number 18 Temple wood. Lots of other records to locate and this week end and the easter period is the ideal time to visit your local wood and keep an eye out for early purple orchids.
Green- winged orchid are also out and the search table is given below. Many of them are quite old records with little chance of finding them, this reflects the loss of old pasture in the county. However you never know with orchids, so if you are in the area of these records or know of any old grssland nearby do have a look.!..fame awaits you..
